Q: How to Maintain Battery?

Hi! I got a Macbook Air (2015) a week ago. I was wondering how I should maintain my battery to increase it's longevity. I've read a couple of threads on here and I've gathered the following:

-Turn off the keyboard backlight/reduce screen brightness

-Don't let the battery drop below 30-40%. When it reaches 30-40%, plug it in and let it charge fully to 100%. Keeping it plugged in when at home won't be a problem.

-Shut down the laptop whenever I'm not using it for long periods of time (i.e. only put it to sleep if I'm going to continue using after <2-3 hours)

Have I missed anything out?

I'm wondering whether it would be bad to keep the battery plugged in after it reaches 100% if I plan to use it for 5-6 hours? What would you recommend a student who takes their laptop to school everyday do (I tend to use for 2-4 hours at school)? Charge it at night to 100%, use till 30-40% and then charge back to 100% and continue using it plugged in until I no longer need to use my laptop. Is that okay?

BTW my cycle count so far is 6. Is that normal or am I not using my battery correctly? I only use my laptop to surf the net (forums, social media, watch shows/movies), listen to music on iTunes, and make documents/powerpoints on Microsoft office.

No. Battery will not overcharge. It is ok to keep the Mac plugged in after battery charge level reaches 100%.

    Normal.
