I want to back up some photos to DVD.  How do I do this directly from Photos?

Usually I keep control by manually loading pics to directories of my making but when Photos has them I can't access the file in Finder.

Select the photos in Photos and export the photos from Photos using the "File > Export> Export Unmodified Original" menu item.

Then select a folder to write them to and burn that folder to DVD.

To backup the complete Photos Library, copy it to an external drive. The library cannot be used from a DVD, since it needs to be on a disk that is writable.

I'll try that again.  I did export originals but got greatly reduced files instead of the full data.  No doubt something I did wrong.  Will try again.

Make sure, you use the menu entry "File > Export > Export unmodified originals"

and not  "File > Export > Export ... files:   ". That will export the modified versions, and if you export modified versions as JPEG, they may be compressed, even if you select "Original size".
