Q: How do you know when iTunes Match is done

So I have signed up for iTunes Match about 24 hours ago, I "think" everything is where it needs to be, took forever for 2200 songs to get to where it needed to go. A lot of my songs were from my OWN CDs that I have imported over the years and no longer have. Which is one reason I wanted to get onto iTunes Match. But now I'd like to take them off my hard drive. I have about 112.2GB of songs on it and want to delete them, since everything "should" be in the cloud and or iTunes Match. Can this be done? Every time I have opened up iTunes, I have to go to the store, click on iTunes Match and add my computer again. WHY??? And I have still not seen the iTunes Match button on my devices. Only the iCloud Music Library button??? do I turn that on?  I am very lost with this. It shouldn't be this hard. I would like to NOT have any music files on ANY of my devices if everything is in the cloud?

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2010), iOS 6.1.4
