Windows 10 / Bootcamp 6 fails to put laptop to sleep / hibernate (Mac Book Air Early 2015)

Hi,

After installation of Windows 10 my Mac Book Air (11" Early 2015) was working perfectly. However after Bootcamp auto-update a new problem started to occur: once for 1-2 attempts to put laptop to sleep mode (for example by closing the cover, or by the command to put it to sleep, or if it is configured to enter sleep mode after certain time) the laptop somehow hangs (the screen is blank, however one can hear that the fan is still working). This operation is irreversible (the only option is to turn power off by pressing power buton for several seconds).

Any idea what driver may be casuing this? I have found threat about powering off (Windows 10 Fails To Shut Down my Late 2013 Mac Pro), however my laptop does not have AMD Fire Pro Control Center...

It is an ACPI Update which on a Mac is bad idea. Can you find the BC/W10 ACPI driver and update using that after you create a System Restore point, so it can be tested and rolled back, if necessary? That date is 22 Jul 2015, which is bit strange. Why provide it now, if it has been out since July?

Hi, the other works fine... I have downloaded BootCamp 6 drivers and manually reinstalled the full package - now the problem disappeared (I can put Mac to sleep and wake it - I have tried it several times and it worked). So maybe indeed it was something which was done by Windows Update, however reinstallation of BootCamp drivers seem to have solved it.

Hi,

After more tests: reinstalling Bootcamp drivers hadn't solved the problem. For some time the computer was allowing to be put into sleep from-time to time, but for most of the cases it "hanged" after closing the cover. I have also observerd that even putting it in hibernation from Windows was not successful (the computer hanged and one could hear that the fan inside was still on while the screen went dark). Of course on MacOSX it was working properly.

The thing I did recently:

- I have UNinstalled all Apple driver packages from Control Panel / Add Remove Programs

- Then I have installed only touchpad, keyboard and bluetooh (and I have used Bootcamp 5 as the source)

Since then - the computer works perfectly - it didn't hang even once.

The conclusion is that the problem was: or Bootcmp 6 drivers (I don't know which), or the fact that initially Bootcamp 5 drivers were installed and afterwared they were upgraded (by Apple Updater) to version 6 - I have discovered that in Control Panel ver 5 drivers were still present along with ver 6 drivers.

Hello,

After some more experiments:

  1. I had to install full BC6, because sound and camera was not working - after new instalation the problem of "hanging" reappeared immediatelly
  2. I tried to remove all BC6 packages except bluetooth, keybord, sound, camera and track pad - the problem was still there
  3. I have removed all packages of BC6 and installed keyboard, bluetooth and trackpad from BC5 and sound + camera from BC6 - problem disappeared

The problem is definatelly in BC6 drivers, maybe in bluetooth?
