Mail App shows email coming in then it disappears

I'm running the latest Mac mail app for my .mac email account and for the last two days when ever new emails come in they immediately disappear, so the ping goes off that its arrived and I can see it is in but then it disappears ? it is doing it on all my mail app's across devices so on my macbook, iMac, iPad and iPhone

is there any way to reset and start again as I am basically not seeing any new emails for my main email account 😟

Here are some possible reasons why this might happen.

1. Junk filtering, or a Mail rule that you created, is deleting the messages.

2. Mail is being deleted on another device that synchronizes with the same IMAP or Exchange account, perhaps automatically by a rule or spam filter. The possibility that someone you don't know about has access to the account must be considered.

3. Mail is being filtered on the server, and the filter is misconfigured. If you have ruled out #1 and you have control over such behavior on the server, disable it and see whether there's a change. Otherwise contact the server administrator.

4. Some mail servers have a setting to delete mail automatically under certain conditions. You would access that setting through the server's web interface, not through Mail.

5. In the settings for the IMAP account in Mail, the field labeled IMAP Path Prefix in the Advanced tab should be left blank unless a server administrator tells you otherwise.

Linc thank you for the reply. just so it's clear its only on my .mac email and I only use apples own mail app in both Mac and iOS devices for my .mac account. When I check rules in preferences non are set. And no anti spam / junk is redirecting as far as I can tell. Even when I look on my mail on the web via www.me.com mail app it still doesn't show up any new mails in the in box. What I can do via the preferences on the icloud mail app on www.me.com is place a redirect to my exchange account at work which I only use outlook on Mac for and the emails are sent to that. So emails get to my .mac and are automatically forwarded but they just are not showing up at all in any of my apole own mail apps on the Mac and iOS devices 😟

quick update, switched off all devices other than my iMac at work (Edinburgh) and when I send email I checked iCloud in browser and so my test come in but immediately disappear so everything pointing to my work iMac at the moment. I worry about if its not that then what else could it possible be ? are there logs that I can see what is happening to an email as it comes in and what is being applied to it for it to disappear ?
