Q: Unable to connect to Wifi network in Windows 7
Hello,
First off I am using a Macbook Pro mid 2012 with Mavericks (10.9.5). The problem I am having is that I have installed Windows 7 Home Premium with Bootcamp using the exact instructions found in the Apple Support for Bootcamp (link included below).
Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support
I followed every instruction exactly as they said, but when I boot up in Windows I am unable to connect to any Wifi networks. A common issue was that Wifi networks would not show up for people, but I am not having this issue. The available networks show up; however, when I try to connect to the one I need to, I get the error "Windows is unable to connect to ____" . When I tried trouble shooting, it says that trouble shooting cannot find the issue.
The drivers from the Bootcamp file were installed when I started up Windows but it did not help. I even reinstalled them again with the Bootcamp repair option from setup but it still did not work. I thought that maybe something went wrong during the install of Windows, so I repartitioned my drive, wiped the USB, and redid the entire process again, but it still doesn't work.
I saw that some people had gotten it to work by manually adding the network they wanted to connect to, but I cannot get this method to work for me either because the network I need to connect to is WPA2 Enterprise, so I can't enter a password in the password field because it requires a username and password. I do not have access to the router because I am at college in student housing. Connecting an ethernet cable does not work either.
Thank you,
HamMech
