Q: Itunes won't sync, close or reopen

Maybe you can help. I'm on Windows 7 and for the first time iTunes wouldn't sync with a shuffle nor would it close. I forced close and now it won't open.

    From your question, it sounds like iTunes is becoming unresponsive when your iPod is connected to your Windows computer. To begin troubleshooting this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the steps outlined in the attached article below. I understand that the article doesn’t mention your iPod shuffle, but the steps to troubleshoot are still relevant. Please let us know if the issue continues.

    I'll check out the article. Thanks! FYI, I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with support yesterday. They tried everything they knew of through process of elimination including "resetting" the shuffle, and reinstalling iTunes. Then did a long screen share session. The "mini" shuffle worked for 6 mos. The AppleCare rep advised that I take the shuffle to meet with a Genius at the local Apple store in town. It's on warranty. He's convinced it's neither my machine or iTunes.
