Why is CD no longer recognized in Yosemite?

Upgraded my iMac to Yosemite some months ago. I have been trying to burn music CD's and the disks get ejected each time. Running OS 10.10.3. System profile says that no CD burning device was found. It is built in. Originally bought iMac in June 2009. Please help. How can I fix this?

Sounds like your optical drive has developed a hardware problem which is causing it to no longer be recognized by your iMac. Either you are going to have to troubleshoot it to find out why or take it to Apple to have them check it out for you. I seriously doubt that the upgrade had any effect of it.
