Sep 13, 2015 10:14 AM in response to Cookie1972ukby Syd Rodocker,Is your iTunes Application "seeing" your media on your external drive? While holding down the "Option" key on your Mac, launch the iTunes application. You'll get a dialogue that lets you choose the iTunes library you want to use. Choose the folder that contains the iTunes library on your external drive. All the best...

Sep 13, 2015 10:23 AM in response to Syd Rodockerby Cookie1972uk,I have tried this but the media still thinks its in the old location - If i do Get Info on the iTunes track it asks me to locate the media. - Doing this for over 10,000 songs would be a a bit of a pain

Sep 13, 2015 10:33 AM in response to Cookie1972ukby Limnos,How exactly did you move the media? There are two ways to do it without issues arising. One is to use advanced preferences to "organize" (consolidate) your media to a different location. The other is to make moving media part of moving your entire iTunes library to a new drive, in which case the option+start method suggested earlier is the way to use the library in the new location. If you simply copied your media to the external and then tried getting it to reconnect by designating the external in preferences this will not work. Assigning a media folder location in preferences only tells iTunes to put media there from this point on, it does not get iTunes to use old media from that place unless you also consolidated as part of changing preferences.
