I have an old iPod Nano, 2GB in black...I think it is a 1st, MAYBE 2nd generation. It will not take a charge and turn on. Is there ever a reason to attempt to sell it back or is the only appropriate place the trash? Thank you!
They will not give you a gift card they will give you 10% off the purchase of a new one. If it is a 1st Generation model it may be subject to a recall and they will replace it with a 7th Generation model. http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano_replacement/
Take it to an Apple Store for recycling. They may even give you a gift card for a few dollars. Apple Recycling Program.
