Started with Snow leopard updated through to mavericks.Finally installed Yosemite.

Do you have the original installation disks? Are they Leopard (10.5) or Snow Leopard (10.6)?

I tried the installation discs that originally with it when i bought it.(snow leopard)But when i put in the disc nothing happens.

I have now had it sorted by an Apple authorised dealer.
Would still be interested in knowing what the problem could have been and what I would have needed to do to sort it out.Thanks for your help,time,effort it is much appreciated.

Sep 18, 2015 2:36 PM in response to Melv.by OGELTHORPE,★HelpfulUsually a DVD drive will not function properly due to a dirty lens. Occasionally there is a compatibility problem with a given brand DVD/CD. Your repairman should be in a better position to answer your question.
