Q: Finding MacBook Version problem

I have a broken MacBook someone gave me, and I am trying to repair it. There's some problems, but the one I am talking about in this question is the version of Mac I have. The MacBook does not turn on, therefore I cannot see system info via Preferences/App Store/"About this Mac..."

Is there a way I can find what version it is just by looking at the outside/battery?

It just says "MacBook" on the display, but it has that silver color, so unless Apple made a MacBook Pro without the "Pro" on the display (Ex. "MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, etc.") it isn't the Pro.
