/System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext

This extension does not exist on my MacBook Pro and reinstalling iTunes 11.4 does not install it. My computer was purchased in 2010 with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Ethernet is Broadcom 5764-B0: I have a new Cannon wireless printer to be used on a secure wi-fi network and cannot set it up without the extension.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

It should be exactly where you indicate: System/Library/Extensions.

Try running the 10.6.8 combo updater again.

Did you restart the computer after reinstalling iTunes?

Yes but it didn't matter because I received a message that this file could not be fund so could not be updated. I even upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.5 and updated iTunes to 12.2.1.16 but the file still doesn't exist.
