When I put the gif picture file into the album artwork section under 'get info', i place it in like such http://puu.sh/kagxb/4cb7187ba7.png
however, i play the song in my itunes and on my iphone and the album art does not change colors like it should in the original file http://images.rapgenius.com/ba066b1af1a633966ad7b6c3527105e7.600x600x4.gif
Is this possible to begin with, or am i doing something wrong?

I have not (and will not) clicked on the links you provided.
However, the way to add artwork, as you say, starts with "Get Info". Then go to "Artwork", then "Add Artwork" at the bottom as shown here:
did that. okay ill try to post the links here dont understand why you won't. ive done that ive plugged in the gif but its not doing what the file should be.
Its not loading like the pictures is above, it only shows up as just one color, is there a way to load the gif properly
It looks like this currently:
I see colors flashing in your first embedded photo above - red, green, purple ...
So my guess is that you are adding art but not removing the art you don't care to retain.
Is there a way to put gif into album artwork?
