What is the app iTerm2 for, and can I delete it?

My niece is taking a computer class, and for some reason decided to set herself up as an administrator on my dad's Mac Mini. (She doesn't live at our house, no idea why she thought this was a good idea)

I saw her playing around in the Terminal settings on the computer, and after talking to my dad, found out she didn't have permission to do that, or to set herself up as an administrator.

She put an app on the computer called iTerm2. I know it has something to do with Terminal settings, but I don't know if I can delete it off of the computer without screwing things up since I can't access her account to see what she might have been doing.

I did go into User Accounts on my dad's administrator account, and reset his password, and then reset her account to a managed account, and restricted a lot of stuff on the computer. (basically she can use Safari, and Firefox, and she has an hour time limit now. I think she was mad when she found that out today)

Next time she comes over (probably next week), I think we're going to ask her for her password, since we have no idea what she's doing to the computer. This way if she bricks the computer, and I have to lug it out to the Apple Store, they'll be able to access both accounts to fix things.

Anyone here know anything about iTerm2, and if it can be deleted without screwing anything up?

Mac mini, iOS 8.4.1
