Q: how do i restore my macbook pro

My Macbook is slow!! Before I go down the route of adding more RAM, I would like to restore the computer to its factory settings. I have backed it up but it didn't come with any disks so I'm not sure if I can do the restore without some help.

Can you advise me please?

Your Mac will have Internet Recovery
OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
if the firmware was update.
Update the firmware. See:
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support
Then you easily restore without disks.

You can also go to the Mac App Store a, Purchases section, and download the OSX installer for the version you presently have. Then make a bootable USB media using
DiskMaker X
and then boot from that media and reinstall the OSX
