Fan runs continuously on MacBook Air mid 2013

The fan on my mid 2013 MacBook Air 13 inch runs continuously. Have tried SMC reset, NVPRAM reset, Diagnostics = "Could not find Serial Number. Reference Code: NNN001. Requires Servicing". Battery constantly drained by fan.

I am in France at the moment and cannot get to service site easily. And not fluent in French. Any suggestions please?

Thanks Linc, that is helpful. I had shut down every App, removed anything running in the back ground etc etc. I tried downloading various Versions of SMC updates and was unable to install due to (probably) the Serial number being 'lost'. I think I'll wait until I return to Australia because I'm moving regularly from place to place across France. Thanks again for your help, but the problem persists - I'll just have to put up with it and use it when needed. Emails etc are taken care of by 3 iPhones and an iPad Mini. The MacBook is for the office work. Cheers.
