Trackpad drivers not working in windows 10

I updated my windows 7 installation to windows 10 on my 2012 Retina Macbook pro (mid-12) and the drivers for the trackpad with the latest 6.0 boot camp support software do not work at all. All other mac drivers seemed to install fine but the trackpad is stubborn and will not work.

I have tried forcefully installing the drivers but this results in a bluescreen and windows will not accept them if I use the more automated path.

Is anyone else having this issue or something similar?

for the people who have a problem with the functions like not tapping or the right click function; click the arrow next to the battery sign then click on Boot Camp, there select boot camp control panel, click on BOOTCAMP Windows and then go to the touchpad tab, you can change settings there.

This really works, thanks so much for sharing! I'm not that tech savvy- for those who had trouble finding "Device Manager" with only having tab and arrow keys at your disposal, press on "command" key to access panel, then use tab key to find "all apps" at the bottom -> go down to "Windows system" -> go to "control panel"-> then in search entry you can type in device manager and start steps mentioned in link from there. I'm so glad to have full use of my computer again, thanks for the help!

Same link as above worked for me on Windows 10 Macbook Pro.

You need to follow all of the steps.

The only difference for me was that after the first step of changing the two Touchpad entries to USB input devices and restarting, those were then listed as USB input devices so I needed to repeat the second stage for the USB input devices which were then listed under 'Human Interface Devices' in Device Manager.
