I want to view my iTunes U material on my mac

I am attending a course using my iPad with Itunes U, where the tutor sends us materials which download in the "Library" on the iPad.

I have iTunes U on my mac, and I am signed in as a teacher. This is not the role in which I want to download the materials of the course.

iTunes U seems to be only for iPad and iPhone.

So, therefore, am I attempting the impossible when I ask my mac to produce the course materials which are present on the iPad?

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

As @turningtest2 notes, some materials may be available via the iTunes U tab in iTunes. However, as I noted in my reply to

Will iTunes U ever be an App from the Mac App Store?

…the iTunes U student experience is only available for iOS.

I suggest you tell Apple about your need to access your course materials from your Mac:
