Not charging properly

I have the ipod touch 6th gen. I have a problem with the charging. It does not charge properly. I connect the charger and I leave it for hours and I come back to it and it has not charged at all. I have many charging cable and they are all functional but it seems the problem is exactly with the ipod. When I take out the cable from the charging port on the ipod, the lightning symbol shows up for just a quick second then the screens turns black. When I put the charger wire back in, the lightning bolt symbol does not show up. Its showing at the wrong time and the ipod doesnt charge ever. It doesnt make any sense. the icon shows up only for a quick second when i disconnect the charger but when i put it back in it wouldnt charge at all.
