Q: MacBook shuts off during startup.

If I hold the cmd key down the computer stays on. If let go the shutdown window appears and the computer shuts down within seconds.

If the cmd key is not pushed during startup the computer goes through a few seconds of startup procedure then shuts off.

I have tried resetting the pram, readjusting the pmset parameters. Nothing seems to work.

Any advise would be great.

Problem solved.
I came across an article about the power button causing the same issue.
I removed the Ribbon for the keyboard and used the two terminals for the power button to start the computer.
After a successful start I restarted a few times with no problems.
I reconnected the Ribbon to be able to use the keyboard in Terminal, The computer started up normally and restarted a few times after with no problem.

Can't fix it if it ain't broke.
I suspect there is an underlying issue with the Keyboard / Start button.
