Q: Apple forced me to change my AppleID password. What an incredible pain!

While trying to make an appointment to pick up an iPhone6s, apple throws out an absolute requirement that I MUST change my appleid password to something that can not be easily guessed. With all the checks and procedures Apple has setup to authenticate and authorize purchases, my password which has never been compromised, is far from a critical problem. Does anyone at Apple realize how many places this password is used? I am now into about my 20th reentry of the new password and I'm sure on all the apple devices I own, that it will continue for many, many days. Why harass your users like this? What's next, a forced change every 90 days? Changing a password that has been used for 6 years is NOT an enhancement in security. If you think it is, show me the research.

Apple is not here. This is a user to user technical support forum. You can send feedback to Apple here: Apple - Feedback

Not sure where or how you were asked for a new password. I, personally, have never experienced any situation where Apple required me to change my password, so not sure what happened in your case....

    Best of luck,
