Hard drive level Library/Printers - you can delete it there.
I guess the question is - why do you need to delete that HP driver package? You don't have an HP printer anymore? If you want help, please explain.
Thanks a lot! Found it. HP driver folder alone is 600MB. Do we need that much? Can we simply delete some drivers?
HP driver folder alone is 600MB. Do we need that much? I am thinking that the software I have downloaded contains way too many drivers. I wonder if some could be deleted.
You shouldn't need to install a whole update package like that one. "Per model," drivers are automatically downloaded when you Add ( + ) a printer in Print & Scan prefs. If you still have the download, double-click as if to install, and look for the option to uninstall.
Read the text paragraphs here about how we get drivers automatically now:
Printer and scanner software available for download for your Mac - Apple Support
and this:
You are welcome. You can delete the entire folder if you aren't using an HP printer.
I installed the whole package in the first place because my Macbook strangely could locate a driver for my new printer. I had no choice but installed the whole package.
There is no "uninstall" with the package.
What if now I delete the whole HP driver folder and then Add ➕ my new printer again?
Eric's right that you can just delete. Then Reset printing system (why - it forces OS X to locate where new drivers are - on Apple server, too).
Thanks Greg. That is what I have in mind.
