Just my way of trying to get your attention and to voice the idea that ridiculing and minimizing the thoughts of others is not particularly helpful while it is very off putting.

Now that I know you folks feel the use of upper case letters for emphasis (not a demand at all!) is frowned upon, I wonder what is an acceptable way, in your opinions, to emphasize a point in written text?

....I agree - Italics gives emphasis while remaining polite. But color (or colour), which I can't see an option for anyway, can be either too pale or too loud according to the colour chosen.
Bold text might sometimes be appropriate but it all depends and anything can offend if it's written a certain way! "F*** Off!" he hinted

Nov 10, 2015 11:05 AM in response to léonieby Allan Eckert,I must concur with Red Robin. Since I am recovering from surgery to reattached the retina in my eye, color is extremely difficult for me to read. Black on white is the best for me while my eye is recovering.

The color option is in the Advanced Editor, Red Robin. Click the underlined A.
Along with other formatting options, like size or fonts.
If you edit your post after submitting it, you will automatically be in the Advanced Editor.
I find a mixture of fonts in gigantic sizes equally offending as ALL CAPS, just as hard to read.
But if you really want to shout, try:
Apple, are you listening?
