I just updated my iPhone to iOS 9 and added my discover card into ApplePay. I wish to use apple pay in Starbucks app, but it shows apple pay is disabled. I am not sure how to enable it because every time I click the disabled button, it goes directly to wallet app and no option is showing to select apple pay or what so ever.

I found out yesterday that Discover is not supporting in-app purchases at this time. When I called them yesterday, they said that they were unaware of this feature and said they would suggest it in the future. They are the absolute worst.
Reading other responses, and having the same problem, I thought it might be just the Discover card. This was the only card I had in Apple Pay at the time. So, I decided to add a Visa and a Mastercard to Apple Pay so I could select a different card and see if the Starbucks app behaved differently. After adding the cards to Apple Pay, but BEFORE changing my default, I went back to the SB app, and Apple Pay was "enabled". So, now it is using Apple Pay, with Discover as my default. As noted in other forums, this is for only reloading purposes. I don't know, but maybe you need more than one card in Apple Pay to trip the SB app? Anyway, working for me now. Hope this helps! 🙂

I was hoping your suggestion would work for me. Unfortunately, I still can't the the Starbucks app to reload through my Discover card. In fact, it specifically states that the Apple Pay through my Discover Card is not available for in-app payments (my debit card is the only other card I have in Apple pay and it is available for payment). Too bad. Discover is indicated to me that it would offer 10% rebates on all Apple Pay Discover transactions through the end of the year....
I'll try again in a couple of weeks to see if it works.
