Sep 23, 2015 11:19 PM in response to Pointebasicby Amit@25,JJust updated to 9.0.1 yet the camera and flash is not working.
guess Apple just doesn't want to accept that ios 9 has killed the isight camera on iPhone 5s
eventually it will blame it on hardware failure and make us upgrade

Sep 25, 2015 12:45 PM in response to Pointebasicby corinna1,I am having the same problem with my 5S after updating to iOS9. I updated to 9.0.1, tried re-updating again to 9.0.1, then tried restoring to factory settings. The problem remains.
I was using my camera successfully the day before I updated to iOS9, and now it no longer works.
I have had my camera replaced in the past, but had no problems with the replacement camera until now.

Sep 26, 2015 12:14 PM in response to Pointebasicby cmichaelpetrie,Same issue here, it remains after taking the following steps:
- Factory Reset
- Reset all Device Settings
- Recovery Mode
- Restore to previous backup
- Update to 9.1.1 beta firmware
To be clear, the symptoms are:
- Black screen when using rear facing camera
- Flashlight app not working
- An erroneous error by the Camera app that says it is too hot to use flash.
Running brand new iPhone 6s here, and this issue ONLY occurred after updating from 9.0 to 9.0.1.
I suspect this ought to be resolved in an update, however, I am disheartened that it doesn't work on the beta yet either.

Sep 27, 2015 1:54 AM in response to cmichaelpetrieby JohnHenryMahlzeit,I went to the genius bar with the same problem. They told me, it has to be a hardware problem and apple has no camera problems related to the new update. Right here I´m happy to see, I´m not the only one with this problem.
None of the suggested solutions worked for me (Iphone 5). The camera had no problems at all before installing the 9.0.1 update.
I hope, Apple will soon offer a solution instead of taking people for fools

Sep 27, 2015 6:09 AM in response to Pointebasicby Kellusia,Same here with ios 9.0.1 my camera flash stopped working. Definetly not a hardware issue as the flash works perfectly with snapchat, Instagram etc. I'm sure there will be a fix in the next update. Until then I'll take pics from snapchat

Sep 27, 2015 4:43 PM in response to Pointebasicby TKfromCanad-Eh,Same issue with my iPhone 6 after updating iOS 9. Camera feature is no longer available. Can't be a hardware issue... otherwise, the software update messed up all of our hardware. Thanks Apple. Odd thing is, how my wife's iPhone 6 was fine with the update.
I'm sure all of us were hoping 9.0.1 would fix it. No such luck.
I'm not getting a black screen when using the camera feature... for me the camera feature/app is completely gone from my phone. There is zero option to even attempt to take a photo from lock screen, camera app(it doesn't exist), iMessage etc.
I was hoping to head to the local genius bar, but it looks like that's going to be a waste of time at this point.

Sep 27, 2015 5:11 PM in response to Pointebasicby Egrissom,OKay, some interesting developments today: the camera started working again. When I checked again 15 min later - it was back to being broken. Now? Back working. My guess is the problem is related to iOS9's new low power mode. It might be worth your time to try toggling that on and off and seeing if the camera comes back.

Sep 27, 2015 5:51 PM in response to Johnpaulmusicby jewls1810,I had the exact same thing on my 6. My Torch was grayed out, couldn't use flash in my camera. I have since done a reset (home screen/sleep) hold and it seems to be working now.

Sep 27, 2015 11:17 PM in response to jewls1810by quirki, guys who have/had flash issues - please don't mix this topic with ours.
this one is about camera not working. Resets, reboots, restores and latest firmware doesn't help...

Sep 28, 2015 4:14 AM in response to jewls1810by cmichaelpetrie,Good news! I believe the hold/reset fixed it, although I am not sure if it was that or toggling the low power button. Either way, it seems to be working now.
Folks who are having this issue:
1. Hold down the Power and Reset buttons until the phone reboots. See if this fixes it.
2. If not, try toggling the Low Power feature on and off. Play with a few combinations and see if it comes on.
iPhone 6s running the 9.1.1 beta here.

Sep 28, 2015 4:17 AM in response to quirkiby cmichaelpetrie,I believe the flash issue and camera failures are related
and ought to both be included in this thread. Either way, check my response to jewels, I think its working for me now.

Sep 28, 2015 7:23 AM in response to Pointebasicby vipcliff,I have the exact same issue. After iOS 9.0.1 upgrade my camera and flash do not work.
I tried Factory Reset, Reset all Device Settings, Recovery Mode wipe and restore as new, then tried a Restore to previous backup. Nothing fixes it.
This is NOT a hardware issue.
How do we get this fixed?

Sep 28, 2015 7:30 AM in response to vipcliffby Egrissom,Did you see my earlier post about how my camera started working again? My thought is that this bug is related to the new iOS9 feature "low power mode" Try:
1. Toggling the Low Power Mode on and off
2. Reboot your phone.
Since doing that my flashlight, phone, and flash have all come back.
