Oct 8, 2015 3:18 PM in response to Pointebasicby lostinlisbon,Hello.
My girlfriend has been having exactly the same camera overheating / malfunction since upgrading to IOS 9.
Has anybody else been successful with the low power mode toggle?
Please keep posting possible solutions and any feedback from Apple.
Thank you very much.

Oct 9, 2015 9:07 AM in response to Pointebasicby uweKer,I have the same problem, except that after updating to 9.0.1 both cameras and flash stopped working.
The update to 9.0.2 didn't help. I tried the mentioned battery saving mode on/ off and reboot, but that didn't help either.
iPhone 6
PS: I had the same problem around a year ago with my old iPhone 5. Camera stopped working after an update (don't know with version it was back then). I tried everything (resetting, recovery mode, downgrading), but nothing worked. In the end i sold it as damaged as i was just getting the 6.
I really hope that this will/ can be fixed.

Oct 9, 2015 1:48 PM in response to uweKerby GucciBuick,Ive had this problem for over 2 WEEKS now and nothing's helped. Ive done averything from restoring to power save mode. Nothing worked. Also now my music on the music app pauses randomly and sometimes my phone locks for no reason. Camera and flashlight still not working. Says my phones too hot... Definitely not the case. Hurry up and fix this apple.

Oct 10, 2015 8:41 AM in response to Johnpaulmusicby Tim1094,Add another one. My iPhone 5 (32GB) rear camera has stopped working too. Tried all the things people have suggested so far - nothing has worked.
Come on Apple, this is REALLY irritating. Sort it out, please!

Oct 10, 2015 9:03 AM in response to Pointebasicby herrlucas,This issue is very strange. Tried all things you guys listed here and no camera. When I finally gave it up trying to fix it, I did a restore (I've done a reset before) and now I've got my camera working fine again. That was so weird!

Oct 11, 2015 2:19 AM in response to Pointebasicby Gallonbear,Had a random call from Apple Care yesterday asking if I was still having problems with my camera. I asked if it was a known issue and the guy said apple know about it but will need to replace my phone so they can do checks on the phone it's self and see what's causing the problem.

Oct 11, 2015 11:03 AM in response to Pointebasicby tmembrino,Same issue for me on my daughter's iphone 5c (camera won't work - shows overheating indicator). Went to Genius Bar yesterday (10/10) and they ran diagnostics test. Indicated the diagnostic can't detect the camera and it will require a hardware repair (quoted me about $50 I think). I passed as my daughter isn't that uptight about it and will be eligible for an upgrade later this year.
Still hoping Apple addresses this in an ios update.

Oct 12, 2015 10:34 AM in response to Pointebasicby bellaand66,Same problem here.My wife uses an iphone 5 for about two weeks,i bought it from a guy who just switched it on warranty-Vodafone.The phone worked flawlessly until she updated it to the lattest firmware-9.0.2.She took some photos the day before yesterday(the camera worked ok)and then, yesterday -black display, only front camera works.I did a complete reset on it,after that camera worked fine for about 5 minutes, then the problem is back on.I don t know what to do,i will try to downgrade to 9.0.1,maybe that will work for me.Hope that apple will fix this soon.I have an iphone 6 too,it has 9.0.1(i didn t updated it)and it runs without a problem.

Oct 15, 2015 12:36 PM in response to pinamdarby johnfrombarcelona,I'll join this list . Have a 5s, back camera is out of focus after downloading 9.0.2. It is in focus for very up close photos but blurry for anything further away than a metre. Front camera is fine. Have done much of what has been suggested here but to no avail.

Oct 15, 2015 11:26 PM in response to pinamdarby bellaand66,Since i posted few days ago,i tried everything that's indicated as a possible solution, but nothing worked.I tried to downgrade the software to 9.0.1,but i can't, it sais that software is not compatible or something like that.I even updated to the beta version 9.1 and the result is the same.My wife uses for the moment the front camera to take pictures which is hillarious.I really don't know what to do anymore,i am so frustrated.I watched a couple of movies on youtube with guys that solved the problem in different ways, but none worked for my phone.

Oct 17, 2015 5:12 AM in response to bellaand66by Tim1094,I've just got back from a Genius appointment to sort this issue out.
Hmmm. The system was restored to a "new" iPhone and still the camera didn't work. The Apple man, who was very helpful, said that it had to be a hardware fault - highly coincidental - but it could not be software. I made all the arguments you'd expect. He talked to someone else in the store and came back and said that the chances were that there was an initial problem with the camera pre-the iOS upgrade - and that the upgrade had accelerated the problem leading to the failure.
My options, I was told, was to either buy a replacement iPhone 5 for €279, accept a €97 trade-in and buy an iPhone 6S - or work with my iPhone5 as is.
I chose Option 3. I'll live with it. And be seriously annoyed. Not happy.

Oct 17, 2015 5:26 AM in response to Tim1094by bellaand66,In my opinion that is not by far a real option.Because if we all live with it ,the chance that this will happen again in the future increases. We should make a worldwide petition or something like that, because the solutions that they gave you are ridiculous.I am waiting for other users from all over the world to post their problems after the update and maybe we can do something about this.
