Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, after an update the screen is not responding to touch. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Sep 19, 2015 4:34 PM in response to Chilipepper71by MichiCat333,You are absolutely right! Apple knows they have a problem with this upgrade thing. Why couldn't they give a warning that upgrading your phone may cause you to totally lose use of your phone? I should never have pressed "install now"!

Sep 20, 2015 1:05 PM in response to mario49by Powerful Pierre,Many thanks for the advice, Apple Support. There are any other lost souls who have reported this issue to you.
It might be helpful to the many others, who are experiencing this problem, to make sure that you do hold down the home and the on/off key simultaneously for the FULL ten seconds - this really does ensure that the phone does restart, and you can restart your life! PPierre.

Sep 21, 2015 2:05 PM in response to Melp09by ndttech,Keep trying the hard reset... ie: hold both the home & power buttons together till you see the USB cable...may have to do it numerous times...this is while still plugged into itunes...and sooner or later it is going to allow you to reset and use the passcode...and when you get in, turn off 'locate my iphone' and do a clean install then update from backup...
