Q: Have anyone experience a bug on a macbook pro (OSX Yosemite 10.10.5) with a full disappearance of files and folders (and unable to retrieve via search via spotlight)?

Hi,

Following a bug on my mac (crash while saving a keynote file) on my macbook pro, forcing me to relaunch the finder.

I realize that after the relaunch, all files and folders on my desktop were gone (but others that were on my documents folder remain ...).

I've then tried to search using spotlight files that were on my desktop but I can't find anything ...

I am on macbook pro early 2013 (OSX Yosemite 10.10.5)

Thanks a lot for your help!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), null

I had observed this yesterday as well, the OS crashed and on reboot I couldnt find my folder and documents on my Desktop, Download & Document folders.
It looks like a similar issue to the permissions getting corrupted and followed step one in the thread: https://origin-discussions-us.apple.com/thread/7516751

    After running this command, sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nosappnd,noschg,nosunlnk,nouappnd,nouchg {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-

The permissions are now restored but my data is not retrievable?

Any suggestions on what to do next?
