Oct 21, 2015 5:23 AM in response to turingtest2by scott1w,I believe I followed all the instructions correctly and still get an error. Here's what I have going on:
Itunes 12.2.2.25 on Windows 10 laptop
Downloaded current iTunes install package and ran it. Said it could not find the itunes6464.msi file so I followed the above instructions to remove the itunes6464.msi key. Attempted to install and still received the following error: "The older version of iTunes cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
I then tried to uninstall iTunes and it does not want to uninstall. Here is the message "The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel."
So I have no way to upgrade, no easy way to uninstall. I tried Revo Uninstaller and it doesn't even show iTunes as an option to uninstall,
I am at a loss for what to do. Can I manually clean iTunes from the computer? I have backed up the .itl and other files so I don't lose information on playlists and the music files. I assume I would need to uninstall all other apple products like bonjour, ASU, mobile etc. That isn't difficult. Then I would need to delete the iTunes folder where the executable is. It's the registry that is a bit confusing since I don't know what keys to remove without causing a crash of my system.

Oct 21, 2015 11:40 AM in response to turingtest2by scott1w,That did it. Thank you for the assistance.
I actually used what you provided to uninstall iTunes. The MS Fixit never finished after a very long time and then something strange happened, the computer shut down with no warning. That was initially a "oh #$%" moment but after a normal startup I was able to install the iTunes 12.3.0.44. Problem solved.

Oct 22, 2015 1:28 AM in response to turingtest2by csmcsweeney,Where do I find the WinLogoKey+R?
I have removed all elements of iTunes (as per lots of advice) but am still unable to reinstall iTunes 12.3. I have Windows 10. Have spent 2 days trying to fix this and it's very frustrating! Grateful for any clear and simple instructions.
