iTunes 12.3.0.44 for Windows 10 64 bit NOT working

Today I download the latest version of iTunes 12.3.0.44. I also upgraded my iPhone 5s and iPad Air to iOS 9.0

When I open iTunes and connect my devices to my Windows PC it does not detect either device.

I am stuck at this point with no ability to backup or transfer purchases to my PC

Devices

Windows 10 PC 8 GB RAM

iPhone 5s 16 GB

iPad Air 16 GB

Troubleshooting

1) I have reinstalled iTunes 12.3.0.44

2) Checked cables USB lightening cables

3. Used Device manager to see if device drivers were current and the USB ports were working

Would appreciate any input on how to resolve the issues.

Thank you,

Rob

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.

If you've tried the above without success then see the method in Install missing components. What component fails to install, and what error message does it give? See this post for steps to produce detailed logs of the installation which may reveal why iTunes won't install.

Great, thanks!

@nhbound1: These steps helped me:

Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  1. Right-click the Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, or Apple iPod entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver from the shortcut menu.
  2. Click "Browse my computer for driver software".
  3. Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
  4. Click the Have Disk button. (If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.)
  5. In the "Install from Disk" dialog, click the Browse button.
  6. Use this window to navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
  7. Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
  8. Click OK in the "Install from Disk" dialog.
  9. Click Next and finish the driver-installation steps. Open iTunes to verify that the device is recognized properly.

Hi Guys,

No doubt Mr turingtest2 is the best Apple Solution guy out here ๐Ÿ™‚ and thanks a lot for all your solution and I am happy that i screwed my weekend and i learn't a lot from this article ๐Ÿ˜ and made me think a lot for sure and finally resolved the issue syncing Itunes 12.3.44 with my Iphone 5s with IOS 9.0 ๐Ÿ˜‰after spending hours of time and thought of sharing the solution steps which worked.

Here goes my problem is I have a running 32-bit Windows 10 with Itunes 12.3.44 and unfortunately none of the 32-bit driver's worked from the above post, So below are the steps i followed

Note - The below Steps is applicable only for Windows 7,8,10 32-Bit system

Step 1 - Disconnect the USB cable connected from Iphone to System.

Step 2 - Download and Install Itunes 12.3.44 from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Step 3 - Download Itunes 12.3.44 32-bit version from http://filehippo.com/download_itunes_32/tech/

Step 4 - Install 12.3.44 32-bit version without uninstalling the Itunes 12.3.44(Step 1) and select Option Repair as soon the installer pops up after you click 12.3.44 32-bit version setup.exe and Install 32-bit Itunes 12.3.44

Step 4 - Connect the cable from your Iphone to your System and Itunes will be able to recognize your Iphone successfully ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

Finally Thanks a lot turingtest2 for your excellent solution steps which made me think in a different level today and nhbound1for asking this superb question ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ which is a common problem for most of the people..

Warm Regards,

Dixit
