Sep 24, 2015 7:38 AM in response to jspence444by kikibear12,This issue just started yesterday for me, I tried every tech hack I know to fix it, but it won't budge. iOS 9 bug for sure. Don't know how to restore phone to iOS 8 or whatever it was.

Sep 24, 2015 8:34 AM in response to Turkoby kikibear12,I just got off the phone with apple support. Anything they can suggest will most likely not work, but the good news, apple knows and is working on the problem. A factory reset(not just a settings reset, use itunes reset) and a back up from a previous iOS 8 for those of you who need your cellular data will fix the problem, I know it is a pain, but it is your only solution until Apple has figured out how to fix the issue and sends out another update. the recent update was intended to help fix the problem, but they know it did not, they got reports, so they are trying to fix it. Those of you who can live without some of that cellular data on individual apps, please don't waste your time doing a reset and wait for apple to fix it. If the next update doesn't work, then they suggest going back to iOS 8.
Just thought I'd let you all know.
Thanks, have a good day, and good luck!

Sep 24, 2015 9:25 AM in response to Turkoby Mmamallama,I'm just gonna sit and wait and hope they come up with a fix that doesn't require me to risk losing anything. I am curious though as to why my ipad didn't start to experience problems until a week after the update. On the iphone update I had data shut off to various apps before I ran the update. On the ipad, I made sure to turn everything on before the update.

Sep 24, 2015 11:24 AM in response to avinash7117by beenvic,FINALLY found a fix to the problem I was having. The things is.. all apps that didn't have the data switched on before the update don't work for after that update. I had to reset my phone back to ios 8.4.1, switch data on for all my apps, THEN update to ios 9

Sep 24, 2015 11:32 AM in response to beenvicby Paradisepilot,I don't consider this a fix! Because if you turn it off for any reason you have to go through all the trouble of going back to iso 8.4 and doing it all again. Apple needs to fix it so IOS 9 works right!!

Sep 24, 2015 12:22 PM in response to bengohypby Chuck5761,On a phone with IOS 8, disable cellular data for an app. Upgrade the phone to IOS 9. The toggle to turn cellular data no longer works.
I have this current state happening with 34 apps, including Numbers, Tips and Watch.
Restoring the iPhone from a backup with iTunes does not correct the problem.
"Erase all content and settings" is not an acceptable approach for a phone with over a hundred configured apps.

Sep 24, 2015 12:29 PM in response to anderswxby Chuck5761,I have the problem with Numbers, Tips and Watch, so support is mis-informed if they think it's just 3rd party apps.
The problem even persists if you delete the app, reboot the phone, and reinstall the app.

Sep 24, 2015 12:46 PM in response to Turkoby Josies3,So i finally was able to fix mine! I tired the iOS 9.0.1 update, but to no avail, then I called apple support and the first woman was clueless on how to help, she had me restore from my computer on iTunes, which did nothing because the backup was still from the ios 9 update, so the problem still persisted, AND she charged me $29!!. I called again this morning, to complain about the idiot women last night, and this woman was much more helpful. She assured me she would have the charge canceled and she had me reset the iPhone to factory settings. This I did, although the problems still persisted, so I did it again, but this time I chose sept 16th as my backup date to back up from, pre iOS 9. Granted, I lost some pics, but I jotted down dates and contacts I had since then in case those were lost too. It worked! I can finally toggle my apps on and off on the cellular settings and they stay, AND when I went to check in updates to see if it was asking me to download iOS 9 again, it said it was update with iOS 9.0.1, WEIRD! I don't know how or why it's working now, but it is! maybe having the iOS 9.0.1 update helps when you restore to factory settings and then choose a pre iOS 9 backup, I don't know, but I'm just glad it works!

Sep 24, 2015 5:06 PM in response to Turkoby jmgarr287,I'm still having issues with my iphone 5s as well. The only thing i have that works is my hotspot that i have on my phone so i can use it to get on with my ipad...which makes no sense! But at least i have some way of getting online but wow this is horrible!!! makes you not want to update at all on any device!!! APPLE YOU NEED TO FIX THIS LIKE YESTERDAY!!!!! We should all be refunded money for all the data that we are not able to use until there is a fix!!!! This is unacceptable!!!!!

Sep 24, 2015 6:14 PM in response to Turkoby Tjuli,Just got off chatting with AppleCare. Part of the conversation is below. Looks like we have to be patience for some more days...
..."Right now, this situation has been detected as a known issue that is been worked upon. We are waiting on a release of an update that will have a complete fix for this issue, as we have been informed that many of our customer are having the same problem..."
..."At the moment we are still waiting on a release date to be ready, since the main developers are working on the software fix, so we can release the update to get this solved, but in the meantime. You could try backing up your software and restoring the device one more time. Some of our users have reported that this step provides a solution for them and it might allow for your device to work while waiting for the release of the permanent fix..."
..."As soon as that update is released, you and all of our customer will be immediately informed so we can get this fixed right away..."
