If you truly have a "Core Duo" then that is a 32-bit CPU chip.
You need to have a Mac with at least a "Core 2 Duo", which is a 64-bit CPU chip. As are the i3, i5 and i7 chips.
But the "Core Duo" is only 32-bits.
