Q: iOS 9 zoom bug big problem!

sometimes history repeats itself

when iOS 8 came out i reported almost the same bug regarding one of the accessibility features, zoom in ios

accessibility zoom in iOS 8 problems

now with the release of iOS 9 zoom feature is even worse

the three finger gesture sometimes works sometimes it doesnt

and when it does when you move around in the zoom area with two fingers the screen is almost flickering

the only solution, temporary of course that i have found is to use the control switch menu shortcut so as to have this and manually adjust the zoom and work around a document or whatever i would like to see

this is a huge issue for me and for any other visual impaired user making it almost impossible to use the device under iOS 9

for any user either vision impaired or with normal vision, can you please replicate this and confirm this? Try and enable the zoom and then use the three finger gesture to zoom in an app or  on the home screen

I'm very worried and very disappointed since this is the main reason i stick to apple for so many years. accessibility tools have been on iOS devices since day one and they have been the best in comparison with the rest of the mobile OS out there

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4

Here too! I posted here last week that it worked in the beta, but Apple removed that post because they felt that a working zoom function is a huge secret. (Bunch of kids that they are; they don't seem to grasp the importance of good working accessibility tools!)

I think I'm going to leave Apple for what it is. An arrogant branch ran by arrogant people who are too stupid to understand what living with a handicap actually means.

The 3 finger tap zoom has been restored.  This is an absolute bare minimum as there is so much of the zoom feature which is not working and makes a lot of iPad functions for visually impaired still unusable.  Please continue to contact Apple until following features work.

Smart typing. When you nee a window to appear to use the keyboard whilst zooming into text you are writing:  this does NOT work in most apps you need it to. When window is selected it is wrong size and you can't resize it enough. This is especially bad in text messaging app, where the text entry field is the ONLY part of the screen you are unable to zoom at all while typing.

Follow Focus   Not working in either Word or Pages.

The above 2 problems have been there a long while and are fundamental to anyone needing zoom with visual impairment to use the iPad.

    Keep posting

YEs, confirmed. The zoom window is placed as if the ipad is in portrait mode, while it is in landscape.

Follow focus does not work here either.

BY the way: apple feels these isues aren't important enough to mention it in the 9.1 release notes...

Recently updated my ipad3 to ios 9.3.2 from ios 7.xx and most of the zoom function seems to be working well except an issue I just reported but with a workaround, so not a deal breaker just realised so many people had worst issues before and glad I waited. Hope this info is helpful for those who are still waiting.
