Sep 17, 2015 10:20 PM in response to iFaqeerby wifiguru,What wireless router are you guys using ? I use an AirPort Base Station and I don't see this issue.
Maybe its router specific ? Do you guys use some other setting on your router:
- Filtering by device adddress
- Firewalls
- custom settings of some kind ?

Sep 18, 2015 6:49 AM in response to tdollimoreby Alice_Phoebe,Forget your Wi-Fi networks and reconnect to them. To get that done, go into your Settings > Wi-Fi > Select your connection > Tap Forget this Network at the top of the screen.
If those fixes don’t work, take a close look at your router. recommend you unplugging it for a good minute or so then plugging it back in. If that doesn’t help, see if there is a firmware update for your router. Each router is different so you’ll need to consult your manual on how to do this. If it is still do not working, taking the device to an Apple Store to get looked at.

Sep 18, 2015 7:40 AM in response to tdollimoreby danielws,Not everyone in this thread is experiencing the same type of problem. For me, I do not believe there is anything wrong with my router -- since it worked perfectly minutes before I upgraded to iOS 9 on 2 devices -- and depending on what I do, I can connect to wifi.
1. If the SSID is hidden, my iPhone and iPad cannot find it. It is not a question of me not knowing how to set it up -- and I have done everything and every reset option short of a complete wipe-out of my device and full reinstall.
2. If the SSID is visible, my iPhone and iPad have no problem. As soon as I hide it again, my connection immediately drops.
3. If I tether my iPad to my iPhone (on cellular) and add the hidden network, the iPad finds it and switches to wifi. If it restart the iPad, the network is lost again and I cannot add it back.
Whether hiding an SSID is useless or not, Apple clearly supports it otherwise the "Other" option wouldn't be there. There definitely is a problem with iOS 9 -- perhaps with certain models of iPad or iPhone and perhaps with certain routers.

iPhone 6+, Guest WIFI in our company are using the 5GHz band and i'm unable to connect to it after the upgrade!

Sep 18, 2015 9:40 AM in response to tdollimoreby asmith0507,Same problem. I called apple support yesterday and they tried to blame it on our networks at work. Then tried to blame it on my phone. I have no trouble connecting anywhere I've tried except for an of our networks at work, and I've tried everything suggested except reboot the modems because I don't have access to them.

Sep 18, 2015 10:44 AM in response to tdollimoreby Joseph Bruni,So far the most plausible explanation I've heard is the new requirement to support only TLSv1.2 for 802.1x authentication. And, it only seems to be affecting devices capable of ApplePay. Due to the PCI 3.0 security, this makes the most sense. If this turns out to be the root cause, Apple could have probably done a better job at communicating the potential outage.
If you can no longer connect after IOS9, check that your wireless authentication can support TLSv1.2.
