Q: Lost all photos after ios 9 update!

Hi guys, i just updated to ios9 a few hours ago and ive noticed most of my photos are missing from my phone AND my icloud. Infact, my icloud drive shows no files at all!

 

However, when i look at the storage levels, it says i have 14gb worth of photos, but the drive is completely empty and not showing any files at all!

 

Im trying to restore from a backup from my computer, but it says my last backup was in May! What the ****?? i back up almost every night! Anyone have any idea how to retrieve my lost data??

 

I have an iphone 5s.

 

HELP!!

    Nearly identical problem since ios 9 update.  Except about 2 years are missing from my "all photos" collection.  They are also missing from my "photos" app on my computer, and icloud.com.  NOT HAPPY.  Senior tech support has no answers...

    I lost some, but not all of mine. All of them from a trip to Netherlands and Denmark in October 2013 and nearly all from a trip to France last year. I called Apple tech support last night after I discovered it yesterday, and they said it is a known problem and engineers are working on it, also, I should keep checking on it today to see if the photos return and contact them tonight if they have not, so I guess I'll do that. I still have all of my photos backed up to my iMac so I can manually upload them to iCloud again if I have to, but it is a bit unsettling that this has happened.

    I have similar issue. Had about 43.000 photos and now only 4.000 remaining. Very upset that I don know wwat is going on and where they all went... Really hope Apple can fix this asap!

    Same here, all photos from the last 2 years are missing after iOS 9 update, there is a rotating wheel saying 'restoring' . Also new photos captured with the camera app, aren't showing on the camera all, or anywhere else.

    I've got a similar issue to everyone else here, since last update, the folders show up in Photos (now iPhotos works again too) but the photos are missing from the folders.

     

    Bigger issue - why is nobody from Apple responding??????

    I am having a similar issue not all my photos are gone, but both me and my wife upgraded we share the iCloud and do the whole photo sharing along with my Mac Book Air and all photos disappeared from May 25 till current date, unfortunately that includes about 2000 photos from this summer.  I really hope that someone has an answer.  My wife is not really happy right now.

    Has there been a solution to this problem? 

     

    I noticed I was missing pictures when I couldn't find photos of my wife and I in Spain 2 weeks prior to upgrading to IOS9.
