iOS 9/iTunes 12.3 not syncing app through devices

Apps no longer will transfer from an iOS device to iTunes. See the note in this document.

Starting with iOS 9, the version of an app downloaded onto, say, iPhone7 may be different than the same app downloaded onto iPad. (It's called App Thinning.) If, however, the app is downloaded onto a computer then a universal app is saved which contains all variants. It can be tranferred to any compatible iOS device.

You can see this feature by comparing the file size of an iTunes Store app on a computer vs. an iOS device.

If you have Automatic Sync set on iPhone then there's nothing to sync.

Check on iPhone > App Store > Updates > ???

One more thing, do you have the same Apple ID on iPhone & Mac's iTunes and is authorised?

Same problem... And i can't see my iPhone 6 plus home screens on iTunes.

With your iPhone connected and selected in Mac iTunes.

If the apps are on iPhone and not on iTunes, what happened if you select iTunes > File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from ....your iPhone?

Speaking only for myself, the apps don't sync. If I have "new" apps that I've downloaded on my iPhone, or existing apps that have been updated, when I click "Sync" in iTunes, those apps do not get transfered from iPhone to iTunes.

ETA: I have also tried the "transfer purchases" button in iTunes, still same result. It goes through all the steps and looks like it's syncing, but apps do not get from iPhone to iTunes.

Yep, another sufferer of this bug. iPhone 6, iOS 9.0, iTunes 12.3.

Did you try on iTunes alone. Select Apps (top left) and Updates (top middle)?

I'm not sure I follow you. To add, I downloaded an app within iTunes store that has never been on my phone before. I was able to install it onto the phone, but again during the sync process, no new or updated apps are being transferred back to iTunes.

EDIT TO ADD:

I just plugged in my iPad Air 2 that I updated to iOS9 on the same day. Same behavior, no apps transferring. So this appears to be an iOS9/iTunes 12.3 issue and not limited to the iPhone 6.

Same issue here. My iPhone 6 automatically updates apps, but when I back-up to my Mac, it doesn't bring those updates over like it did before. Have to manually update through iTunes.
