Sep 21, 2015 12:56 AM in response to sparta81by sparta81,Ok guys, thanks for your help!
So, apparently that was an Apple decision without any communication!
Of course is very disappointing...but not the first time!
We love apple, but sometimes they really take decisions totally absurd...hope they will change their mind. What happens now if we have a problem with our device? Does the backup save the apps anyway, or we have to download them on iTunes as well to have them available for a reboot or a new device?
The second option definitely will be quite ridiculous! -
Sep 21, 2015 9:18 AM in response to sparta81by Joker242,To anyone concerned,
Apple supposedly does not read these threads (i suspect they do, but who am i to know?)
The only thing you can do is provide feedback here:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
Already done my bit.
Whether they will listen is another matter but the more vocal the community is the more they might.
Be nice though: I've heard any profanity laden feedback is automatically disregarded, so...
and on a side note I've been an apple user since nearly the beginning and the amount go feedback I personally have been producing is growing day by day.
Maybe Apple needs to start listening to their users again.
just my two cents

Sep 21, 2015 10:27 AM in response to DaveGarrattby guy1923,I have the same problem since iOS9, I wrote to Apple feedback, complaining about this issue, and asked if whether they consider reinstating the automatic updates from the iOS device to iTunes or maybe allow an automatic update of the Apps in iTunes, However I am concerned that if the Apps are not synced with the iOS device, next time I want to transfer all data into a new device ( iPhone or iPad ) using iTunes, all updated Apps may be not transferred, including the ones purchased on the iOS device and not synced into iTunes !

Sep 21, 2015 12:06 PM in response to sparta81by UpTheVale1876,This is quite a bizarre change from Apple and is obviously designed to shift users further towards iCloud.
I usually download all my apps via my phone and then transfer them to iTunes for backup purposes. My understanding is that when you restore your phone from an iCloud backup your iCloud backup doesn't actually contain copies of your apps, just a link to what you have downloaded and then during the iPhone restore process they are re-downloaded from the app store. BUT what happens to apps that are no loner available in the app store, if they cannot be transferred to iTunes then essentially we lose them...unless every time we download a new app we also download it into iTunes separately?!

Sep 21, 2015 3:26 PM in response to sparta81by steveallen86,This is very disappointing and I think iOS 9 is by far the most buggy and frustrating software update I've ever received from Apple.
For those asking, I downloaded an app AFTER upgrading to iOS 9 which never synced to my Mac and therefore was never in iTunes. I restored my iPhone from a backup to try and remedy the issue and although it didn't provide a fix, the app was present on my iPhone 6 AFTER restoring with all settings in place. So don't worry, although it's not technically stored in your iTunes library, the app and all of it's settings are stored in the backup.
Hopefully Apple saying this is by design, is just a desperate attempt to cover up yet another gaff and a fix will be provided with the next iteration of iOS 9.

Sep 22, 2015 4:18 AM in response to Korpilby Payman_GH,Thank you for the clarification.
I'm having the same problem too.
I read the link provided by you which explains APP Distribution Guide. As an End-User and not a Developer, it sounds logic to me but just only to some extends.
Now I'm curious to know whether or not this is everybody's problem who has upgraded his/her iOS device to iOS 9.0. If it is caused by Apple's new method/policy through which the apps are being distributed from AppStore to devices, then this problem should exist on every single device which has been upgraded to iOS 9.0, then I expect this forum to be flooded by users having this problem or at least to see some feedbacks on the web, i.e. on Yahoo or etc, but I find almost nothing when I search for it.
I tried to ask this question from Apple's Support but my device coverage was finished. I would like to ask from this thread's participants who are still under support coverage to open up this issue with Apple to see whether or not this is a bug or caused by new Method of APP's Distribution.
Thanks in Advance.
