Oct 17, 2015 5:09 AM in response to Cyber100by uwcatprem,I totally agree with Cyber. I was delighted with my iPad 2 until ios8. I then upgraded to ios9 hoping for the promised improvement. Clearly Apple are being less than honest about the compatibility of the latest ios with older iPads. I was thinking of buying a new iPad, but Apple as a company are not what they once were. The most annoying change is that while Safari, Pages, etc run hopelessly slowly - third party apps still work fine after upgrades. Its almost as if Apple are deliberately trashing our older iPads hoping that in frustration we will buy the latest model. No chance of that! Apple software is now so buggy that we are being forced to change to Android or MS. Even this Apple web page is full of bugs. Wake up Apple!

Oct 17, 2015 5:14 AM in response to dadooqby bobseufert,Thank you. The setting is you need to change is settings> general> restrictionss> keyboard> Show lower case keys.> off. iI just turned it off and it's staying off, What a difference it makes. Thanks again.

I have the iPad Air 2 and it is slow after upgrading to iOS 9 also. It's not only iPads. My iPhone 5s lags and land lady's iPhone 6 lags. The thing causing the lag is iOS 9. Apple had the best operating system ever with iOS and they have found a way to destroy it. I wonder when if ever it will be fixed but if not soon I will be looking at android powered products in the future.

There are 5 suggested fixes and you should try them all to see if this helps with any of your iPad issues.

I believed that turning off the lower-case keyboard solved the problem of keyboard lag in Pages, but I was mistaken. After further testing I have narrowed the problem down to this predictable scenario: when I open a document in Pages the keyboard is fine and responsive. If I hide Pages by switching to a different app, or if the iPad switches off due to timeout, when I return to Pages, the keyboard lag is so bad it is unusable. Re-opening the document or restarting Pages solves the problem until the next time the app is hidden. This is the same behaviour irrespective of which keyboard I use, so still hoping for a fix.

Nov 3, 2015 4:16 AM in response to McDuFF14by Stevebit,I have a iPad air 2 and I'm having problem with it being slow also mostly on Safari if I restart my iPad it seem to be better for a while but then goes back to ******* me off, I have 150 MBPS Verizon Fios so I know that isn't the problem. I think this kinda blows the concept of needing newer hardware out of the water. I'm trying to be patient waiting for a update that will fix mine and everyone else's problems. I really believe Apple will get it done just don't know when. If I was Apple they should be concerned about the iPad pro rollout because I was going to buy the new Pro when it comes out but now I'm having second thoughts about purchasing a new paperweigh. LOL Good luck to everyone keep the faith

That started the decline of iOS and then after he left the other main guy they had retired after iOS7 and now you see how buggy iOS 8 was and iOS 9 is total junk. They seriously have issues with the main selling point of their devices which was the always smooth running iOS. Hopefully they'll be able to hire some talent to deal with it. It ultimately is the fault of the CEO for poor judgment and bad decision making. They need another Steve Jobs bad.

i have tried all your fixes. I even did ad complete restore when I first went to iOS 9.1. Your fixes helped but Safari is still almost unusable. I have to reload at minimum 2 out of 3 webpages to get them to load and they still load unreasonably slow. It also crashes with every app at least once an hour. 32 gb withatleast half available. I'm glad yours work but I am ready to smash this thing Any other fixes other then iOS 9.2 or Samsung?

Safari on my iPad 3 is running pretty quick and I currently have 4 tabs active.

Many people would disagree with you as Apple just posted another record breaking financial quarter and they have BILLIONS in the bank!
IF iOS is running just peachy on my 4 or more year old iDevices, there is nothing wrong with iOS 9 or the recent 9.1.
As I stated in your other post thread, something on your new iPad Air 2 caused an issue woth iOS 9.
You never responded to me to see how you did these upgrades/updates, but OTA with Wifi or Cell data is NOT the ideal way to upgrade iOS devices, IMSO!
Instead of whining and ranting, why don't you just bring your new iPad into an Apple Store and let them sort out your mess!
You have one free year of AppleCare. Why not use it!
I will state this once, again!
The amount of users reporting into these forums with iOS issues with their iDevices represents a very, VERY small minority.
There are tens of millions (or more) of iDevice users who aren't having issues with their devices and who don't post in user troubleshooting forums, like those provided by Apple.
Just because the small minority of users having issues, that post here, doesn't mean that Apple is at fault or that Apple is forcing users of older hardware to upgrade to newer hardware or Apple is "out to get your money" for a new device!
It just means that some older hardware has had some arbitrary issue that has caused problems with upgrading to new versions of iOS.
OR there was some unforeseen iOS bug or software glitch or anomaly that has affected a small minority of users devices.
This has always been a common issue across all major iOS AND OS X upgrades/updates.
It a pervasive issue when dealing with OS upgrades/updates with so many users with so many different configurations.
WIth an ever growing iDevice user base, there will be users that will, invariably and inevitably, run into problems.
Yes, it is a small consolation for those who have iDevices that either aren't working properly or not at all, but the issues ARE NOT RAMPANT across the entire user base of iOS devices!
Apple can't test for every device configuration contingency.
Everyone uses these devices differently and have different apps and data on them and older devices cannot use some features of a new iOS upgrade due to older hardware limitations.
There are just too many variables that are out of Apple's control and can't be tested or accounted for.
