Q: Why am I being asked repeatedly to type my newly changed password?

I've just retyped this, since selecting product selection erased what I had typed.

I've just changed my password, so why does the software repeatedly ask for my password immediately after I've changed it?  I spent about 90 minutes last night, 30 minutes in Keychain alone, typing it in over and over again, past the point of good computer security and into extreme annoyance.  What about biometrics to avoid having to enter passwords repeatedly?  Since two-step verification was imposed (and it's good when it works), combined with a newly changed password is a tremendous hinderance, again past the point of good security. and I've been in computer security in one way or another for the past 30 years.
