Error 14 can also be hardware related. You should get the phone checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store.

Errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014. You might also see a message that includes "invalid response."

If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you might not be able to update or restore.

To narrow down the issue, try different equipment:

• Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
• Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
• Try a different computer.
• Solve other issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.

If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues.

Depending on your warranty status, Apple might charge you for checking the phone. But I think that can also depend on the way you approach the Genius Bar.

In any case, they will tell you before they check the device if there are any costs involved.

i have same issue, tried different cables, different computers, still same issue, my iphone 5s never had any issues before.

I have tried different softwares to bring it out of Recovery mode but failed.

fonepaw, reiboot, tinyumbrella, ios-recovery, none of them were able to take my phone out of Recovery Mode. Always get error 14 in itunes.

i have tried this from atleast  5 different PC's and 10 Different cables.

anyone has any solution or ideas for this?

just an update, took the phone to the apple store, they said that it is a hardware issue, not sure how it started after having the phone for just over 2 years.

they gave me a brand new iphone 5s and took my old phone.
