Q: AirPort Time Capsule - 2TB backups safety windows 10

Hello.

Apart from Apple devices I use a dell laptop running windows 10 home.

Airport Time Capsule 2TB is in my purchase list first though is there a way to know how does the backup function works?

Meaning, how do Apple devices do their backup together in the same drive with  a windows device?

Will windows format the drive?

Do iOS devices need a partition?

Is it simple like Time Machine creates a folder in the AirPort Time Capsule then Windows creates a File History folder without formatting that same drive ?

Would be good to clarify this procedure before getting one.

Is there someone that is combining these services or even more complex ones that could describe their way of functionality?

Thank you

    1. No. The Time Capsule's internal drive is a network share and can only be formatted with the AirPort Utility.

    2. No. It isn't possible to back up an iOS device straight to the Time Capsule; those need to be backed up to a computer, and the computer needs to be backed up to the Time Capsule.

    3. Yes. Whichever Windows backup method you use needs to be capable of backing up to a network drive.
