iCloud Backup Broken After iOS 9 Upgrade

iCloud Backup on both my iPhone and iPad have been working fine for years until I upgraded to iOS 9. After the upgrade it said my latest backup was "Never". When I pressed "Backup Now" the progress bar flashed quickly then went back to saying my latest backup was "Never" (no error messages).

I decided to try turning iCloud Backup off and back on again. When I try to turn in on it says "iCloud Backup Failed. There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup.".

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix?

iPhone 6, iOS 9

OK, So after reading the plethora of posts here by many i tried a few things on my iPhone 4S and guess it did get the job done.

I had deleted my backup and turned it off a long time ago. It showed that i hadn't backed up in 82 Weeks.

I went to manage storage and deleted any files i found, Turned off FIND MY IPHONE, Turned off KEYCHAIN, Turned ON iCloud BackUP and then Turned it Off.

Restarted my iPhone, Turned on iCloud BackUP and then tried Backing UP and its working fine. I am on the latest iOS 9.1 Build. Hope this works for others as well. Working on my iPhone though. It shows that it would take 3 hours to backup. Please turn off the KeyPad Lock before you start the BackUP process.

I have had same problem at iphone 6+ since iOS9. iOS 9.2 update didn't fix problem.

SInce I have old MacBook Air with Snow Leboard I can't backup my iPhone anywhere because there isn't new iTunes for Snow Leobard and iOS9 won't work with old version. Apple should release iTunes for Snow Leobard too a we could backup our devices at least somewhere.

All Finnish Apple support suggest is backup iPhone iTunes and then return backup to phone at repair mode. I cant do that with Snow Leobard. And I don't wanna totally empty working iphone. All I wanna is backup my phone somewhere.

I am completely fed up with Apple's inability to address this issue. The Genius Bar people play dumb and act like I'm the first person to have this problem and Apple has done absolutely nothing to address and/or admit there is an issue. With all those "genius's " in HQ, you would think they could identify and fix a flaw like this. My last backup was on 11/1 and 9.2 did nothing to fix. Ugh....

I too, share your feelings. Apple support - that appears to be helpful, does not acknowledge that the failure of both automatic and manual back ups to iCloud is an issue with their IOS products. I have tried many different suggestions/ instructions to address and "fix" this problem.

The last thing I did, was to perform a 'hard' reset of my phone, and then do a lengthy recovery through iTunes.

I trust that the newest update to 9.2, doesn't help with iCoud Back Up, as reported by several other postings, so I have not downloaded that update yet.

Besides, that 9.2 update does not even acknowledge this issue either, let alone list Back Ups as a patch or fix!

Tomorrow I plan to completely clear and reset my iPad and phone to 'factory settings' and start as a new user. Which I am dreading.

IF that doesn't work....I do not expect to buy an iPhone 7!

I am sure someone Apple read these messages. I login here with my Apple ID.

Just got message to my iPhone: This iPhone haven't been backup since 12 weeks. iPhone will be backup when connected psu and wifi network... Yeah sure... Not after iOS 9.

FInland support says engineers are trying to fix this problem. Something changed after iOS 9 to iCloud backup. My case was open at Ireland server support 4 weeks. Nothing happened.

Why Apple doesn't just release iTunes for Snow Leopard so everyone could backup their phone somewhere. I can't even buy iPhone 7 next year because can't backup or transfer data. What if my iPhone 6+ broken or stolen. I don't have backup of my data.

This is totally Apples fault. If Steve would still live things would happend...
