Sep 29, 2015 9:16 AM in response to tweilemannby littlelune2003,I chatted online last night to apple help regarding syncing issues that I have since going to ios9. I have also basically been told to wipe the iphone and start again. I did point out that other people have the same issues but hey ho. Perhaps a new update will come soon to fix all our concerns

Sep 29, 2015 10:15 AM in response to leJuan5150by kiriakosa,I can now confirm that after resetting network settings, automatic backup and manual backup both work. Takes a little more time than before, but it completes the procedure.

Sep 29, 2015 11:26 AM in response to leJuan5150by BeantownMac,This was a very annoying issue which has thankfully corrected itself for me. I've now switched to a 6s (which has other issues...thanks iOS 9!)
With my 5s, updated to 9.01, then backed up to iTunes. Then wiped and restored the phone with the iTunes backup. iCloud backups (including nightly auto backups) began working again. Same issue existed with my iPad after upgrading to 9. I followed the same steps and now my iPad gets nightly auto backups to the Cloud. I know that not everyone's phone, settings, apps and backup data requirements are the same. But, this worked for me.
Obviously there needs to be a 9.02 stat to fix a whole slew of 6s and iOS issues.

Sep 29, 2015 11:47 AM in response to BeantownMacby HarveyfromNJ,Resetting Network Settings has AGAIN FAILED for me.
trying a manual backup on my iPad and taking a long time and then failing to back up.
I hope 9.0.2 comes out ASAP with a fix for this backup problem.

Sep 29, 2015 12:00 PM in response to leJuan5150by FrateTAC,Seems all ok now, manual iCloud backup completed in less than 40 minutes.
Now my doubts remain about automatic backups.

Sep 29, 2015 2:48 PM in response to leJuan5150by littlelune2003,after advice from online support from Apple, I totally restored my phone and started from scratch. It took hours and the problem remains. This did not happen before updating to ios9 (and iOS 9.0.1 didn't help either). Also cannot sync contacts fully. Please look at this apple.

Sep 29, 2015 8:10 PM in response to appleexpert1by DrToddB,I've had the same issues and tried everything everyone mentioned.
I then had IT at work allow me to install iTunes on a Windows PC. I was able to successfully back up to hard drive and hen finally restore it to my new 6S. ICloud back up still doesn't work, but I'm stoked to finally be using my 6S.

Sep 29, 2015 8:38 PM in response to leJuan5150by harryneeds help,Hi leJuan5150
I experienced the exact same problem as in my note posted 14+ hours ago. After trying a 1000 different ways I finally got my backup to iCloud to work perfectly. Here is what I did: First I signed out of iCloud on my iPhone 5s. Then I did a full restart by holding down my power button and the desktop button simultaneously. I held the buttons while the screen went black and I released the two buttons when the Apple icon appeared. Once the phone was fully operational I signed back into iCloud on my phone and started the backup procedure. IT WORKED ! ! ! When the backup feature started working I checked my calendar & contacts and found that they were not syncing either. I performed a re sync of my calendar & contacts. Go to : http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/ios-refreshing-icloud-contacts-calendars for an easy set of instructions.
Hope this helps !

Sep 29, 2015 9:22 PM in response to harryneeds helpby Boat Guy,I tried the logout of iCloud, reset, log in. It blew away my calendar, but didn't fix backups. Still broken.

Sep 30, 2015 1:03 AM in response to leJuan5150by D.Bartonsky,MY iPhone 6+ finally backed up of its own accord today. The original backup must have been hidden there all along, because it is about 15gb, and today's backup didn't take all that long to complete - so I'm presuming it was just adding to the file already stored in iCloud as per usual.
I hope everyone else here gets sorted soon too.

Sep 30, 2015 8:44 AM in response to leJuan5150by williamfromPA,I am having similar problems with my iPhone. I spoke with First level apple support for over an hour yesterday. They escalated to second level support. After a long conversation amongst themselves and then back to me, second level said there was nothing they could do. It is a known problem in ios9 and is being worked on. Just wait, I guess.
