Jan 30, 2016 11:05 AM in response to imaheby Bothrops7,I was at the Apple store in Schaumburg, IL on 1/27 purchasing an iPad Air 2. I spent 3&1/2 hours being passed to 4 different associates including 2 so-called "geniuses" with this back-up problem on my old iPad and on my iPhone 5 that has been reported on this board since last September. None of these 4 associates had a clue. They wiped my devices clean and I had to back up from my desktop when I got home.
I decided to come to this forum and in 20 minutes found more useful information than the time I spent with the "geniuses". (The delete back-up suggestion solved my problem.)
I'm disappointed in the "geniuses" lack of knowledge of this problem that has been around for months and the crappy customer service I received.

Jan 30, 2016 7:47 PM in response to Jordan23k23by gail from maine,I can't speak for everyone, but it appears to be fixed for most, if not all of the people posting on this thread. Why wouldn't you want to upgrade to see? Since you don't list the iOS level that you are running, it is a bit difficult to determine if you are running a version that provided a fix:
Download iOS 9.0 - 9.2.1 Information

Jan 31, 2016 5:48 AM in response to gail from maineby Bothrops7,Gail,
I had 9.2.1 installed from when it was released. That's not the issue.
The point of my post is that the Apple geniuses were not aware of the simple fix of deleting the iCloud back up to "reset" the back up function.

And you can post feedback about your experience in the Apple Store here: Apple Retail Store - Feedback
