error during formatting

I have a problem I am trying to format my iMac with Mac os x DVDs, version 10.5.2, I do the right process when it comes on the installation it opens a small window above saying it was checking the DVD, it he carries up to a certain part and an error message, saying, "there was a problem reading your disk. clean the disc carefully and try reinstalling." I already made this process a few times and still gives this error will be that someone can help me solve?

Hopefully it just needs cleaning or dust blown out.

I already cleaned it several times, blew too, but still giving the error, would have some other solution?

If you have another Mac With Firewire & an optical drive, you might try the Disc in the other one, but the other on holding t key for target disk mode, connect the 2 with a FW cable, boot this one holding alt key & see if you can choose to boot off the install Disc in the other one.
