Q: My phone number appears on all my device

I love my iPhone, but this iMessage is really getting under my skin. I have 3 iPads and 4 iPhones on my account,  I did the update to IOS9 and now my phone number along with all the others on my account is present on all devices. In years past there was a simple icon to delete the numbers from each device and now there is no delete button anymore.  So basically anyone with a iPhone or iPad on my account can access each other's text messages.   I Have a 13 year old daughter and I don't need to have my phone going off with the 2,000 plus text messages at all hours of the day and night.    How do I delete any number I don't want on my account off?    I want each person to receive there own text messages to there own device.    if this was over looked by Apple then that is a horrible job on there part. Text messages are the way of the world and should have been high on the remodeling list

iPhone 6, iOS 9

    Hi Keith,

I suppose you use the same Apple ID across all your devices in order to have access to apps and music. I have the same situation, but I took a different turn - all my family is using my Apple ID for App Store and Apple Music or iTunes Music Match. Apple is providing an even better solution, http://www.apple.com/uk/icloud/family-sharing/ for this.

But each family member has his / hers personal iCloud account. Therefore no issue with FaceTime nor iMessages, because each individual in my family has it's own identity, only the apps and music are managed through the same Apple ID.

    I hope this helps,

    Ady
