Sep 30, 2015 6:37 AM in response to Thomas-53by Jay.Guadagni,I haven't seen anything from Apple regarding this, it is a huge step backwards.

Sep 30, 2015 3:30 PM in response to Jay.Guadagniby tdh824,I just tested some of my gopro videos through the iMovie app. They do play through the app without issue but if I remember correctly, I had to purchased this app a long while back. Is this apples way of making an extra buck? i doubt it, but I am getting tired of no support of acknowledgment on the issue.

Oct 22, 2015 3:57 PM in response to Jay.Guadagniby LotusPilot,I've also noticed this issue. It appears that in iOS9, Apple seem to have deliberately disabled native-app support (Photos, iMove etc) for anything over 1080-60 - unless you have the newest super duper iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 or soon to be released iPad Pro. This is now made even more obvious as support limitations are now explicitly listed in the app release notes for iMovie 2.2.1.
IOS7/8.x would happily play the higher resolutions (greater than 1080) content derived from the GoPro. Content previously loaded, and working on my iPad mini 2, now displays the "unsupported" banner message in iOS9. The hardware is obviously capable (as content would play before the iOS9.x updates) and apps with embedded players (such as winzip) still do play the higher resolution content, so this is definitely a case of Apple deliberately crippling the higher res content for the core native apps on any platform without A8 or later processor.
Apole give with one hand - and take away existing support with the other. Thanks Apple - you really know how to keep you loyal fan base happy...
Don't get me started on the locally cached email that won't load or display unless it has a network connection! This new email limitation, deliberate or bug, makes a complete mockery of off-line use when travelling.

Oct 25, 2015 9:58 AM in response to Jay.Guadagniby Gradient1,I'm using iPad Air 2 and have the same kind of problem. Videos "appear" to be downloading from the camera, but don't show in the photos app. All I get is the single frame, but no video. The camera connector is sold upon the basis of downloading video. It no longer does. If this really is a question of moving the goalposts (re formats etc), then why no technical description?

Nov 3, 2015 10:16 AM in response to Jay.Guadagniby Codgee,Gutted, none of my videos now play, what's the point of upgrading if it's a backward step? Losing faith in Apple now as they seem to be just after your money by screwing you over time and time again, if not sorted soon I will be investing in a different tablet that actually does the simple things in life without trying to tie you in with Apple only products!

Nov 6, 2015 2:25 PM in response to Codgeeby Jaserx,After getting the annoying "new software update available" daily I finally decided to update and now my Gopro videos will not play.
I spent A LOT of time on the phone with Apple trying to get this resolved. After being asked to "please hold" 2 times, and getting disconnected 2 times while on hold, I finally convinced a rep to stay on the line with me. She told me that Apple is aware of the problem and was working on it, but provided no ETA and could not provide any help at all.
Absolutely unacceptable, Apple. There should not be any problems playing a format that was easily played with IOS 8.
