Q: If I do not have a a "cellular" option on my iPad Air 2, does that mean I cannot add any data to it? To inlcude Apple?

Purchased my iPad through an online website. It is WiFi compatible but it does not have a cellular option. I want to add data to my iPad but without that option, can do this? Or fix anything to get it?

iPad Air, iOS 8.4.1

If it's a Wi-Fi only iPad, you can do nothing to it to convert it. Hardware cannot be upgraded nor changed in any way.

If you have an iPhone, you can try to use Personal Hotspot (carrier dependent) to use your phone's data with your iPad. Verizon Wireless plans include this at no charge. As far as other carriers go, I have no idea. You'll need to contact them.

You can also purchase a separate mobile hotspot device from a cell carrier and use that with the iPad as well.
