Q: Target Display Mode with Windows PC

Hi, guys.

I have iMac mid 2011 and HP Z Book 15. I want to use my iMac as a external display (e.g. target display mode).

According to this table: Use your iMac as a display with Target Display Mode - Apple Support I need thunderbolt <-> thunderbolt cable.

I borrowed it and have connected it to iMac mid 2011 and HP Z Book 15, after pressing Command + F2 - nothing happened.

When I've tried similar test case with MacBook Pro mid 2013 - everything worked fine.

So question: is it possible to use iMac mid 2011 as an external display with Windows computer which has thunderbolt port?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

PCs do not support TDM.

No. Target Display only works between Macs.

Also Target Display requires an Intel Mac, which your 2011 is, however this is the forum for the old PPC Macs. I'll request your post be moved to a more suitable forum.
